In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange warned the state government that proceeding with elections without addressing the Maratha community's reservation demand would have serious consequences. Jarange invited Marathas to a large gathering during the Dasara festival in Narayangadh, Beed district. He emphasized that he is unwavering in the demand for reservation and the withdrawal of criminal cases against community members. Jarange stated that the state government would face backlash in the upcoming elections if it ignored the Maratha community's demands. He urged unity among the Maratha community, stressing that the issue goes beyond just reservation to include dignity and equality. Jarange criticized some in the ruling party for creating obstacles and suggested that the Maratha community should not be categorized as 'Kunbis' for reservation purposes within the existing OBC quota. Despite promises from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's government to address the issue, progress has been slow, leading to growing dissatisfaction within the community.
